OFCOM EMF Emissions regulations explained and what do they mean for YOU!!
Unbelievable! Thanks for sharing. I’ll keep watch for it.
Here in Finland I have started Arctic 252 serving the Arctic region. Lower power transmitters are available so in reality these broadcasters could have used less power and a more efficient transmitter. Even reducing broadcast hours. Are we to stop everything just to achieve ‘the carbon footprint?’ Sorry environmentalists but Arctic 252 will be broadcasting from October on long wave. Somebody needs to save radio……..
I’ve had access to longwave reception through my life. But here in Canada I only ever seem to pick up either LW beacons of some kind or just boatloads of radio hash due to switch mode power supplies in consumer electronics here. The one thing I really miss is the shortwave broadcasting I used to enjoy back in the 1970s. FM radio is full of pollution so I don’t even bother listening.
I juat bumped into this frequency but it sounded nothing like this, sounds like a fluctuating repetition, almost thoufht it was drone like. I should upload to get your opinion
Today is special.
Probably super off, but predating 911 with mention of “blow up the dome” seems interesting. Put that in context of obvious issues with the America and a perception that Palestine has been subject to abuses, and this seems like the sorta person who could easily be radicalized. Interesting.
The little girl's voice was actually made by a machine known as the Stasi Sprach-Morse Generator.
You took the ballast resistor out and now transmit in the 2nd and 3rd harmonics. So about 2 watts on 27Mhz and 5 watts on the 2nd or 3rd. well done also that output will die over 4 watts. Change the ballast resistor from 3.3 ohms to 3 and then retune the set to 4 watts.
Grew up listening to "Longwave Radio Atlantic 252".
hm01 cuban number station its so strong that during the solar storm was the only station audible in colombia just next to an ecuatorian station
The Test Match disappearing from 4LW is no big loss with itvbeing on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra DAB and on Freeview on your TV. But there's still the shipping forecast on that can be heard on both FM and LW now.
But how many radios are in service capable of receiving LW today, as the presenter points out. Onwards and upwards with technology!
The sentimental side of me would love to see the likes of Boom Radio or Radio Caroline broadcast on 198 LW, but the realistic side of me acknowledges that there's a good chance that audience figures would be very low & therefore not financially viable. It's a shame because that frequency is very robust in covering parts of the UK that even FM &, more especially, DAB would struggle to cover. I'd like to be proven wrong, I really would, but sadly it is how things are going
What utter nonsense ref. ‘After 43 years’…. Atlantic 252 didn’t go on air until 1989! By my maths 2023-1989 is 34 years! Also, RTE Radio 1 did not pick up the vacant frequency after Atlantic 252s demise - A station called TeamTalk 252, with studios in Leeds, picked up the 252 frequency for a few months between Atlantic closing and RTE Radio 1 taking over the frequency!
Congratulations you decrypted the plot for World Trade Center attack. I’m surprised nobody else recognize this.
We are all one nation, but we are not all one entity , if you are collecting ITu entities. Then England, Wales, Scotland , island of man etc all count towards your total. Why do you think people do DExpeditions to uninhabited islands.
there is nothing to stop replacement valves being made. Its not that FM is the issue, its people listening online that has given the BBC an excuse to close Radio 4 longwave down. Do we get a cheaper licence fee because of this ? No! Why does the BBC insist we fund an outdated licence model when we are paying to find a service they dont want to offer us?
I used to listen to radio station Atlantic252 at a distance of more than 500 kilometers from the station. Namely from the south-east of the Netherlands
I've had my DX 10 for a week or so now & I have settled down to the radio , I have found it's one of my best radios out of my collection . One of the things that annoyed me with this radio was that all of the 8 push buttons moved at once each time one button is pressed , it's like the whole button bank is lose internally , the slight movement of the 8 button bank I guess is a slight design floor , I found that the movement of the button bank somehow made the radio feel cheap . I found an easy way of resolving the lose button bank by carefully applying Servisol silicone grease between each button , this process is performed externally & no need to open the radio, it worked a treat , the silicone grease has secured all 8 push buttons with no excessive movement anymore , the silicone grease acts as a small gasket in between each of the buttons securing any lose movement , the buttons work perfectly & the radio has a much more solid quality feel about it , the silicone grease does not show & is perfectly safe for the radio hence it's only silicone , this process also prevents any dust or grime getting in .
I didn't get anything
Hi im nit a troll Ive a question as to why you needed a repeater for that distance
Is leave possible?
Thank you for sharing , I've programmed mine with the programming software , but unfortunately the clarifier has it's issues insofar as if the clarifier is set to the exact frequency at band F , the end decimal on all the other bands A/B/C/D/E are effected , I can live with this as it just means that I have to rotate the clarifier by 5 Hz each time I use Band F or vice versa . If the clarifier programmed a frequency on channel 1 , it will repeat the same adjustment on all 39 other channels and also all the other bands too , it's most odd , perhaps there is a way of using the clarifier to program each individual channel ?, but I haven't seen that option as of yet . I've tried programming the radio via it's software on PC , but it still has the same issues , for example on the 11 metre band the pc program was set to 27.601.25 & once downloaded to the radio the frequency displayed 27.601.20 , I'm hoping that there is a setting on the radio that will correct this issue ?, I just haven't seen it yet ?. 73.
It’s an odd quirk with this set I’m yet to find anyone who has got round this issue but if you do manage to overcome it let us know!
Thank you for your reply , absolutely , if I can find a way of correcting the 5Hz issue I will let you know . 73.@@RadioOddities
I've found a bunch of Laser 558 and pirate radio-related video clips on a rough VHS tape. The quality of the Laser clips is poor but discernible, so I will post them on my channel shortly.
This has to be real Why would somebody sit on a radio and talk like that not even knowing if people are listening or not? It just doesn't make sense!
The worst thing about art bell callers were all the weirdos making up stuff. I bet people who witnessed for real crazy things never called there.
Laser 558 was very popular in East Kent back in the day. Presentation was slick with minimal talk and maximum music although it was only top 40 based
I found a TVS Coast To Coast report on local and pirate radio on a tape I bought from ebay. Quality isn't great, but I will post it on my channel fairly soon.
I'm a tad surpirsed some are saying they dodn't know this was coming, the invitation to comment was very widely circulated in both both Social Media and Amater radio press.
Yes it is good for the price. Before Baofeng came along, it cost hundreds of dollars to start in the hobby of amateur radio.
Are you going to cover the rest of the changes?
Yes, once phase 2 is implemented I will cover these too. Stay tuned and if you havnt already please subscribe so you can get a notification as soon as the video drops 👍🏻
What I was referring to Ben the removal of Nov's for was Gateways and personal repeaters permitting 3rd party traffic, a huge change for anyone involved in digital modes. Then there are changes to Maritime and Air operating etc.
Nothing was received in the post here either
Nope, they didn't inform or ask me either so sounds like they just took a sample. I only found out from the grapevine.
Didn’t Ringway Manchester cover this last year?
I believe he did!
Amplitude modulation
Thats crazy never bumped into it
Fire Drakes are jammers used between China, North Korea & South Korea jamming Shortwave & AM signals. Sometimes it can be herd in the US & Canada on the west coast.
Nothing in the mail for me. I still replied, though. 👍
Am I to believe as a 2E0 I can change to a M8 or M9 callsign right way.....I cant wait...I hate my 2E0
Your correct! Although that’s phase 2 of the process and will be implemented before autumn 2024. I know lots aren’t keen on the 2E0 calls- they can be a bit of a mouthful.
They didn't ask me.....I got nothing through the post from them.
Not at all surprised I know of a few others who didn’t get any communication from them either
RADIO CAROLINE is still broadcasting on AM. 648KHz They are using the former BBC World Service Transmitter Site at Orfordness Suffolk

What was the decode about this time? Was it genuine or hoax?
Hey, now you're talking. This was cult back in the 80s. We used to listen all the time and Atlantic 252 as well. Part of my growing up man. Good post
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video and it brought back good memories!
Good grief! Another ham with high speed chattering and an annoying echo. Is that what all of your contacts hear? How about thousands of people listening!
I order a na 771 vhf uhf nagoya and its 2000% better then the fake nagoya 771 comes with the radio
why is your t and k brackets so close together
Because there is a wall right below where the antenna is so I am restricted with space.
Useless:(
